Looking for Group

Call for Aid

Call for Aid is DutyCall’s looking-for-group board. It is a first-party matching surface for extra players, not a public social feed, not a chat, and not a place to post free-form content.

For App Review. This page is the long-form explanation of LFG. Rallies stay private squad invites. LFG is the optional public call for open seats. Guideline 1.2: canned Accept/Pass and vibes; the only user-typed field on a call is an in-game name, hidden until Accept; report and block apply.

Rally vs Call for Aid

Rally

Private to a squad you already belong to. First-party skins. Members respond In / Out / Time Adjust. Not a public feed.

Call for Aid

Visible to signed-in DutyCall users. Used when you need extra players. Same report and block tools. No chat thread, captions, or user-uploaded art.

Example: a squad of 3 can rally privately and, on the Aid step, ask for 2 more. DutyCall posts a call for those 2 seats with the same game and time. The rally stays private; the call is the public ask.

Where to find it

How a call is created

Compose screen title: Call for Aid.

  1. Game. Empty search shows a small curated hint list. Typing searches the first-party public catalog. You select a name; you do not author a game title as a post body.
  2. When. Local date and time.
  3. Vibe. Three canned chips: Party, Locked In, Noob. First-party icons. No free-text mood.
  4. Need More. Extra people wanted (1–10). Shown as fill: “Need 2 more”, “1 of 3 in”, “Full up”.
  5. IGN. The name others would search in the game to add you. This is the only user-typed string on the call. It is not shown on the public board.
  6. Call Expires. Defaults to an hour after When. Expired calls leave the active board.

Submit: SEND THE CALL.

Caps: at most 3 active calls, and at most 1 active call per local day.

Owner-only status on detail (not on the board): Active, Full (“We’re Full”), Expired, Stood down (“Stand Down”).

The board

Each row is a banner: game, local when, fill, vibe icon, IGN masked as “IGN ••••••” until you have accepted, and Accept (or a check if you are already in).

Calls you own are labeled Mine, tinted green, and appear on Home under LFG - My Posts.

There is no comment field, photo attach, or user-written description.

Accept, Pass, and IGN

On detail, a non-owner gets canned actions only:

After Accept, IGN is shown to the poster and to others who accepted. Home lists the call under LFG - My Posts. The poster gets a push like “{username} is in for {game}”. Pushes do not include IGN.

IGN is a coordination handle (how you add someone in Fortnite, Valorant, and so on), not a public bio. DutyCall remembers it per game and lists it in Privacy so you can change or delete it.

Who’s in

Once you own the call or have accepted it, detail shows the poster and every accepter: DutyCall username, IGN, and Add Ally (or Ally / Pending). Add Ally is the existing ally request. It does not open a chat and does not expose a phone number.

Rally Aid step

Create Rally: Squad → Game → When → Aid → How.

Aid asks “Need Backup?” Extra seats 0–10. Zero keeps it in the squad. Extra seats require IGN (and optional vibe). Sending the rally also posts the call with that seat count, same game and time.

If you already hit the LFG cap, the rally still sends. The call is skipped and you are told it did not post.

Safety

Call for Aid is built so it is not an open UGC surface.

Not in LFGFirst-party / canned
Free-text posts, captions, comments Three developer-defined vibe chips
User-uploaded images or video Accept or Pass only
Public IGN on the board Game names from a catalog plus curated hints

Sign-in and terms happen before you can use LFG. Rally catalog “(Explicit)” folders are first-party skins behind an in-app Show Explicit Content toggle, not user-uploaded sexual content.

How to test

  1. Sign in (Sign in with Apple or email).
  2. Open the far-left LFG tab.
  3. Tap CALL FOR AID. Pick a game, When, Vibe, Need More, IGN. Send the call.
  4. Confirm the row is green and labeled Mine.
  5. Open Home. Confirm it under LFG - My Posts.
  6. From a second account, open the call, enter an IGN, Accept. Confirm IGN is masked on the board and revealed after Accept. Confirm Add Ally and the report flag on someone else’s detail.
  7. Optional: Settings → Hide Calls on Home. Discovery hides; My Posts and the LFG tab remain.
  8. Optional: Create Rally → Aid → extra seats and IGN → send. Confirm a call is created for those seats.

If the board is empty, create one call as above. There is no need for seeded public listings.

What is stored

Call: game, when, expire time, vibe, seat count, owner IGN, status. Accept: who accepted, their IGN, link to the call. Per-game IGN on the signed-in account (Privacy). Sign-in required. No guest posting.

One line. LFG is a first-party “need extra players” board with canned actions and canned vibes. The only user-typed field is an in-game name, hidden until someone accepts. It is not a public UGC feed.
